The Chook-minder's QUEST

I am not unhappy; but I have observed that there are people who seem to look luckier and happier than me.
I have started to fear that I might have massive deficiencies or defects in life.

I'VE BEEN SPENDING MOST OF my existence in searching for the ultimate success and happiness. I have soared across the skies, swum the deepest the oceans, climbed the loftiest mountains and traversed the widest horizon but the greatest treasure I’ve been longing for is yet to be found.

I desperately wanted to discover the secret... the secret for a successful and a happier life. I have leafed through the pages of many published written works, and have browsed plenty of sites in the international electronic networks just to find the ‘magical key’ that will lead me to a euphoric life, but I haven’t...

Where can I locate the ‘treasure’? Is the answer hidden in a stack of our chick’s straw bedding, or is it mixed with the grains we’re feeding them? Is the ‘secret ingredient’ intertwined within the fibres of our chicken’s flesh, or simply suspended in the albumen of their eggs?

My quest continues; hopefully, not for a lifetime.

I would like to thank all my friends in the blogosphere who voted for my article ‘The Keynote...’- an official entry to the 2009 Pinoy Expats/OFW Blog Awards.

Mabuhay ang PEBA!

God will provide the answer to these questions soon, Doc RJ. Or perhaps, the answer was already laid before your eyes and you just overlooked it. Just keep the faith! God bless you!

nabasa ko dati sa english textbook namin nung high school, the greatest secret to success and happiness in nothing else BUT LOVE.

LOVE YOURSELF next to God. Nobody can love and accept you if you dont trust and believe in yourslef.

Hope He lead us.

you know what is the best thing to do? be a millionaire and after a year or two, be a simple man!

dun mo marerealize na life is but simple!

minsan kelangan nating marating ung gusto natin para marealize nating we need to go back to BASE. dahil mas simple, mas ok, mas masaya!

tama kaya ako?

Powerful nga ang LOVE, Chico! Salamat at naibahagi mo ito sa 'kin.

REDLAN
Satisfaction and contentment naman ang punto mo, Red. That's good! U

AZEL

A lot of people have not lived long enough to find the answers to their question in their quest for ultimate success and happiness.

Some have gained wealth and fame but still they are not happy, because they failed to recognize God as the main soruce of happines.

Happiness and success starts in our own heart, everything is within our reach if we only submit ourselves to the will of God, it takes faith to reach for the stars.

Chico is right..love and love and love and love..that's the secret..

reading materials serve only as guides..I have read the book of Rhonda Byrne entitled "the Secret". In this book, you will learn how to use the secret in your daily life - money, health, relationships, happiness and every interaction you have in the world..I recommend you to get a copy of this..

All of us are in search of lasting happiness. But maybe we don't need to look for it anymore only if we would be willing to change our lifestyle and the way we look at life. :)

Huh, RJ, what's this? The chookminder is in quest for success and happiness? Aren't we all?

Lagi kong sinasabi sa sarili ko: I should always be a child -- always forgiving, always contented, so easy, so unproblematic, whose needs are simple, without expectations, etc.

You're looking for that 'magic key'? Read the Proverbs. The treasure? It's you.

Take it easy, RJ. I believe that God has good plans for you.

in my onw humble opinion,
CONTENTMENT siguro.

its not about the things that not yet found but the things you have on hand right now.

life is all about moving forward and thats normal.

You worry to much. It's just a phase everybody felt at your age. You'll experience that again when your past 40. Tawag nila dito "midlife crisis". Don't worry, you'll be okay.

Lumabas ka kasi at manligaw!! : )

[I am not unhappy; but I have observed that there are people who seem to look luckier and happier than me.]

i think the key here is not to compare your happiness with the happiness of others. not just happiness but i goes to everything you have. happiness can be expressed in very unique ways. it doesn't usually mean that you have to constantly smile or always jump for joy... it's the calm, peace, and satisfaction with what you have... :)

hello RJ,

Nice blogs you have here..

"the ‘magical key’ that will lead to a euphoric life" is found within each and everyone of us...no matter what situation we are in, 'the key' is always there waiting to be picked up to unlock that door to euphoric life you are looking for...

It takes for most of us a lifetime to find it because of the fact that we were always looking outside of Self..We have been brought up to believe that our "Saviour" is out there..We are brought up to worship heroes and we are made to believe that for our lives to be worthwhile, we must give even if we don't have..We have been programmed to "sacrifice"...

In the Filipino culture, most of us were never encouraged to love SELF first and to give to self first..We were taught about the golden rule which is to " LOVE OTHERS AS YOU LOVE YOURSELF ", but the true meaning of what Jesus taught was lost because of the "sacrifice" mentality...
But, it is clear that the "LOVE YOURSELF" is the greatest love of all..so i agree with Chiko's comment...

Money as we all thought would give us all the happiness in the world, can sometimes bring us hell in this life...So we need to understand the scripture that says, " THE LOVE OF MONEY IS THE ROOT OF MANY EVILS "...it is clear that it's not the money but the " love of money " can bring us evilness... I would love to as much money as possible so i can help others even more.. that would really make me happy...

There is a book that you might want to read..'THE ALCHEMIST' by Paulo Coelho ...If you read it already, you might want to read again because to refresh your mind to it's wonderful message...that book really leads the reader to the key to happiness...And your blog reminds of 'Santiago', the main character in that book...take care..oxoxo..

hazel..

*if we know that the "Saviour" is within, we won't have the constant need to be saved*hv*
